What a strong wind we had last night. I was affraid that the trees around my house could break. I hope everyone is well and nobody got hurt.
The City of Cambridge wants to instill parking meters in Cambridge to increase their revenue. Surely this will assist the pocketbook of the city, but will it hurt the local businesses as well? Parking is free at the malls and the downtown core would be penalized for not being in a mall or plaza. I personally find, that it could have some effect on the local businesses, since in general nobody likes to pay for parking and if having the choice to go close by to buy wihout paying for parking they might very well opt for this. http://www.cambridgetimes.ca/news/local/article/1525265--downtown-bias-do-not...
I got pulled over tonight, because my sticker was expired. I was lucky, the officer was very polite and nice about it and he accepted my ignorance about the date when it has to be renewed. So I got off with a warning. Thank you and as well thank you for being nice about it.
I attended this Seminar today, which JC Mortgages put on. Wonderfull full breakfast, some good and usefull information and on top of it there were quite a lot of door prices.
Thanks Janna, well done.

We can be proud that we in the Waterloo Region have the biggest Oktoberfest event outside of Germany. It is an event honoring part of the German heritage in the Waterloo region. It is amazing and very honorable to see how much effort all the German clubs are putting into this event. I think it is absolutely great to see, that this effort is rewarded by drawing visitors from not only the region, but from all over, including the US. Very well done! However I personally think, that this event could be even a bigger success if the German clubs would be able to organize it similar to how it is done in Germany, where all the events are joined together in one location, with huge tents, a big fair other family attractions and so on. I think this would draw even a bigger crowd, eliminate driving from one place to the other and elevate it to even a higher level. Of course this would bring some additional logistical and financial challenges for the individual clubs, but knowing the German innovativeness, I am sure it could be overcome and I am certain it would generate much more revenue to the clubs than the additional costs. Just a thought.
